Tammy Halfacre

M.A., Educational Consultant — Literacy, K-6

Tammy Halfacre has 29 years of educational experience and is honored to be a CORE Consultant working with teachers and schools. As a seasoned educator, she strives to promote ongoing professional learning, supporting educators while building trust and partnerships to enhance best practices. Tammy has a strong background in Literacy and has completed the LETRS Certification. She started her teaching career in Wisconsin for 3 years before moving to Alaska where she has spent 26 years as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, EL/ PL Coordinator, and Principal of a K-2 Elementary. During her career she has been an advocate and district leader developing the MTSS framework with a focus on academic and behavioral evidence base practices and progress monitoring. Tammy is passionate about assessment data and how to utilize data to drive instruction with a focus on teacher collective efficacy.

In addition, she enjoys teaching for the University of Alaska and supporting adult learning and professional growth. When she’s not at school, Tammy enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and gardening.
