Sarah Murphy Traylor

Sarah serves as a Program Manager with CORE Learning, supporting high quality instructional materials implementation in districts in California as part of our CalCurriculum Project.

Sarah majored in education at Texas A&M University and began teaching 7th Grade ELA at Waller Junior High in Waller, Texas in 2005. Sarah joined YES Prep Public Schools in 2008 as a 6th Grade English Teacher. For the last 14 years at YES Prep Public Schools, across numerous roles such as Manager of Recruitment and Instructional Coach, Sarah leveraged her passion for supporting all learners, building strong and impactful relationships with all stakeholders, and creating pathways to opportunity to achieve impactful results for teachers and students across the state of Texas.

Most recently, Sarah leveraged strong project and people management in her role as Manager of Coaching and Learning on the Teaching Excellence Team at YES Prep Public Schools, supporting instructional coaches and novice teachers across the city of Houston. Sarah is passionate about novice teacher development and access to excellent curriculum for all students.

Sarah volunteers with We Need Diverse Books as a volunteer blog writer and believes in the importance of literature that represents all identities. Sarah holds a B.S. from Texas A&M University, emphasis in English and Social Studies and an M.Ed from Texas A&M University in Curriculum and Instruction.
