Greg Leap

M.A., Educational Consultant — Math, Middle & High School

Greg Leap is an Educational Services Consultant with CORE. Greg has more than seventeen years of experience teaching, leading, and coaching in schools across the country. As an Independent Consultant, Greg has been supporting Principals and Executive Leaders to implement research-based best practices, including building walkthroughs and curricular adoption. He has partnered with several organizations, including SchoolKit, UnboundEd, Teaching Lab, and KIPP.

Prior to launching his own organization, Greg was a Leadership Coach at TNTP, where he helped train and support over 100 leaders across district, charter, and faith-based schools. Before TNTP, Greg was the School Leader of KIPP West Philadelphia Prep, which in 2014, had the highest 6th and 7th grade MAP growth in Reading among all KIPP middle schools nationally (58 middle schools in total). Of the 33 middle schools in Philadelphia, KIPP West was the fourth highest performing overall school according to the state’s School Performance Ranking. Greg joined KIPP West in 2011 as a Miles Family Fellow and founding 7th grade math teacher. Greg led his students to the highest state test proficiency rating (93 percent) in KIPP Philadelphia history.

Before KIPP, Greg was a Teach for America corps member in Atlanta, where he taught mathematics and reading at Crawford W. Long Middle for five years. During his summers in Atlanta, Greg worked at the Teach for America Atlanta Institute, holding multiple leadership roles including Corps Member Advisor Coordinator and School Director. Greg also served as an Adjunct Professor of Secondary Mathematics at the Relay Graduate School of Education in both Philadelphia and Delaware. Greg received his bachelor’s from Penn State University and his master’s degree from the University of Southern California.
