Lisa Michel

Ed.D., Educational Consultant — Math, K-12

Dr. Lisa Michel is an Educational Services Consultant for CORE. She has been working in the field of education for 30 years. She is passionate about fostering and supporting equitable and inclusive learning environments where students feel a sense of belonging, can take risks and be creative thinkers. She retired as Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning at Culver City Unified School District in 2021 and has been consulting for schools and districts ever since. Prior to her Director role she served as a high school administrator over curriculum and instruction and a teacher of both middle and high school mathematics in both New York and Los Angeles. In between her teaching and leadership careers, she worked as a Research Associate in WestEd’s STEM division.

Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Music from Tufts University, a master’s degree in Teaching from the New School for Social Research, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from UCLA.
