Gabr’l Stackhouse

Gabr’l Stackhouse is a passionate educator with two decades of experience. She is a grade three co-author of the Heinemann series Math by the Book. Recently, she was the lead content writer for UnboundEd’s Math Identity Leadership Accelerator® (MILA®). This comprehensive 15-month program equipped school leaders with an understanding of what it means to apply culturally responsive math practices and build their capacity to use school structures to promote grade-level, engaging, affirming, and meaningful math instruction. Before joining UnboundEd, Gabr’l served as an elementary math specialist for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, where she supported 106 elementary schools and more than 85,000 students. She also served as Regional Professional Development Lead for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, where she supported 12 school districts.

One of her proudest accomplishments is her work as a K-8 principal. During her tenure, she led the school through a charter change that provided students with daily opportunities to take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process by integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics. As Director, Curriculum Services, Gabr’l will oversee and lead the development of current and future products and services.
