Like many educators, teacher/consultant David Hedges has been teaching his 7th graders using a hybrid model this school year. Each day, Mr. Hedges has students sitting at socially distanced desks in his classroom as well as students joining by Zoom. Watch the 30-minute conversation with CORE’s Director of Mathematics, Dean Ballard, to learn Mr. Hedge’s tips for keeping students engaged both online and in person, about collaboration tools to support hybrid instruction, and how to build community among students learning in different locations.
Thanks !
I enjoyed Hedges ideas. I’m a 2nd grade teacher. It’s being a different learning experience for all stakeholders. I going to asked my students to ask each other the smiling question with mask on.Also, I just purchased some white boards for all my students, great way to engage all the students.
This can be an alternative to aid the learners collaboratively. Ms. Marx
Hi, my name is Marty. I teach 4th grade within the Bureau of Indian Education – New Mexico district. I learned a few great ideas; i.e., partnering students to get them to communicate and partnering. We barely got our Ipads and as far as technology concerns, we struggle with hotspots so all can be learning at the same time. Yes, we have challenges and yes, we are hanging in there. Thank you!
We are so very proud of our son David. It is rewarding to read such nice comments concerning his instruction capabilities….he also CARES and that is so very important. Dad and June
