Ana Mercedes Facenda is an Educational Services Consultant with CORE. Ana Mercedes currently serves as an Early Childhood Literacy and Language Development Consultant, Instructional Coach, and Parenting Coach. She is an expert in early literacy, bilingual and multilingual instruction with 18 years of experience as a bilingual early childhood educator within the New York City public school system and international teaching experience in Brasil. Her comprehensive expertise in multilingual education is grounded in rigorous academic preparation, including a master’s degree in Teaching from Fordham University and a post-graduate Spanish Bilingual teacher extension from Hunter College. She has further distinguished herself through specialized certifications in Reggio Emilia-inspired instruction and childcare center management from New York University, demonstrating her commitment to research-based, child-centered pedagogical approaches.

As an early childhood literacy and language development consultant, Ana has successfully facilitated virtual and in-person professional learning and job-embedded instructional coaching and mentoring across the United States and in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Her specialized coaching and mentoring practice focuses on developing both pre-service and in-service bilingual educators from Nursery through Grade 8 in structured literacy and child-centered pedagogical approaches that nurture language development, with proven success in Spanish, French, and Mandarin language settings. Through her independent consulting services, Ana provides subject matter expertise (SME), assessment consultancy, curriculum consulting, and parenting coaching to educational organizations and families. She leverages her deep understanding of early literacy development and language acquisition to transform educational outcomes for children and empower educators and families with evidence-based strategies that honor linguistic diversity and joyful learning experiences while accelerating academic achievement.
