Jennifer Delano-Gemzik

Educational Consultant — Literacy, Pre K–5

Jennifer Delano-Gemzik is an Educational Services Consultant for CORE. Jennifer has more than twenty years of experience as an educator at the elementary level having served in various capacities throughout her career. She began her career teaching English as a Foreign Language to students in grades three through eleven in Ryazan, Russia as well as teaching courses at the local Teacher’s University on American English. She has been a classroom teacher in second, third, fourth, and fifth grades and has extensive experience working with second language learners. She taught English as a Second Language for kindergarten through fifth grade as well as teaching classes at the community college for adult English language learners. Jennifer then went on to work as a literacy coach and an administrator for multiple elementary schools. As a literacy coach and administrator, she has worked with schools to implement classroom instructional practices, curriculum, and assessments aligned with research through collaboration with stakeholders, modeling, co-teaching, and feedback.

With a passion for literacy, Jennifer has been a state-wide trainer for North Carolina’s Reading Research to Classroom Practice, Demystifying Dyslexia, and Deep Dive Into Dyslexia courses for educators PK-12 focused on implementing evidence-based instruction in literacy. Jennifer also conducts national trainings on Language Essentials for Reading and Spelling (LETRS) for educators and administrators. Additionally, she has supported schools and districts in implementing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support in literacy by providing ongoing professional development for schools and districts. Jennifer has helped schools and districts identify evidence-based curriculums, assessments, and instructional practices to meet the needs of diverse learners aligned with each of the tiers.
