The L4GA grant competition requires that applicants propose professional development and interventions that will improve the literacy skills for all students from birth through grade 12.
CORE has worked with many past Striving Readers grants recipients to ensure high-quality comprehensive literacy instruction. We provide:
- Assistance with the evaluation, selection and implementation of standards-based ELA curriculum
- On-site training in reading foundational skills based on the science of reading, including specific instructional strategies for English language learners and students with dyslexia
- Modeling and coaching for teachers to help them strengthen and refine their instructional skills
- Support to design and implement multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS)
