The goal of Michigan’s Essential Instructional Practices in Early Literacy: Grades K to 3 is to ensure that research-supported instructional practices are used in every classroom, everyday. Yet teachers are not always prepared to implement these practices. For more than 26 years CORE has worked with districts and schools to develop teacher capacity to deliver high-quality, comprehensive literacy instruction based on the science of reading.
We provide:
- Assistance with the evaluation, selection and implementation of standards-based ELA curriculum
- On-site and online training in reading foundational skills based on the science of reading, including specific instructional strategies for English language learners and students with dyslexia
- Modeling and coaching for teachers to help them strengthen and refine their instructional skills
- Support to design and implement multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS)
