CORE Services

Elementary Literacy

CORE's professional development and technical assistance services provide teachers and school leaders with the knowledge, skills, and support to effectively implement a schoolwide literacy program that works. Elementary services include support for classroom teachers, special education staff, English-language learner staff, and literacy coaches. The CORE elementary specialist also provides executive coaching for the school principal to implement basals, supplemental materials, and assessments. CORE is an approved Reading First provider to schools in many states.

Adolescent Literacy

CORE's adolescent literacy experts team with your middle or high school to implement a comprehensive three-tiered approach to support struggling readers and enhance subject matter instruction. Adolescent literacy services include on-site coaching support for teachers in intervention and regular classes, special educators, and English-language learner staff. The adolescent literacy expert provides executive coaching to the building leadership to ensure successful implementation of a schoolwide model. This model supports Striving Readers and is consistent with Reading Next.

Whole District Literacy

CORE's whole district literacy services build sustainable districtwide capacity for effective literacy implementation. A District Implementation Technical Assistance Expert works closely with the superintendent, the cabinet, and district administrators to develop coherent and consistent literacy plans that meet the needs of all students at every level of the school system. CORE also trains district staff to redeliver CORE services, reducing the need for ongoing outside assistance. In concert with central office literacy work, site specialists provide the support needed to establish effective demonstration sites and to implement programs at the classroom level.
