Revised Reading Academy

The CORE comprehensive five-day Reading Academy has been newly revised with the Teaching Reading Sourcebook, 2nd Edition and Assessing Reading: Multiple Measures, 2nd Edition. This academy can be delivered in your district or you may send your staff to one of CORE’s national academies.

The Reading Academy provides the most complete and up-to-date research and newly designed, practical models for developing phonemic awareness in young children or struggling older students; for teaching phonics, high-frequency, and multisyllabic words as initial learning or intensive intervention; for developing reading fluency; and for expanding vocabulary and strengthening comprehension. CORE offers two levels of academy services: Elementary and Adolescent Literacy. Both academies support the implementation of a three-tiered approach consistent with Response to Intervention (RtI), and sessions 4 and 5 of the Adolescent Literacy Reading Academy are specifically designed to be especially useful to any middle or high school content-area teacher.
