Districtwide Literacy
CORE Has a Proven Model That Brings Real and Sustained Literacy Achievement to Even the Most Challenged District
CORE's whole district literacy services build sustainable districtwide capacity for effective literacy implementation. A District Implementation Technical Assistance Expert works closely with the superintendent, the cabinet, and district administrators to develop coherent and consistent literacy plans that meet the needs of all students at every level of the school system. In concert with central office literacy work, site specialists provide the support needed to establish effective demonstration sites and to implement programs at the classroom level.
You can improve your districtwide literacy program with CORE’s expertise in an on-site intensive program for K–12 levels. Our plan for your success will help you achieve the following outcomes:
- Enhanced capacity of site and district administrators to manage and monitor instruction
- Refinement of a district literacy plan, including a plan for communication and coordination
- Identification of specific implementation issues and a plan for organization, resources, and support needs
- Strengthened ability of coaches and leaders to analyze test data, facilitate on-site collaborative conversations, and develop solutions to implementation challenges
- Site and district leadership with deep understanding of literacy materials and assessment
- Calibration of instruction through literacy walk-throughs and classroom observation
- Improved teacher quality and knowledge through rigorous professional development

Testimonials
"Thank you for your professionalism, help, caring, and support. I really appreciate your priorities, your knowledge base, and your coaching 'style.' Your work has helped Fair Oaks better implement reading and ELD instruction. I look forward to all that we will collectively continue to accomplish next year."
– Patricia McRae, Assistant Superintendent of Instruction,

"Our reading scores have improved tremendously over the years with the assistance of CORE. From a school that was 'failing' to a school now in 'good standing,' we are now considered a 'beacon' school for reading. Many schools throughout our state have visited to see how we implement our reading program and interventions. Thank you, CORE!"
– Alvin Shima, Principal,
Kihei Elementary, HI
