CORE Provides Common Core State Standards Implementation Support

In most states across the country that have chosen to adopt the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), teachers, district administrators, and state departments will need professional development in order to facilitate their successful implementation.

CORE is here to help. CORE math and literacy experts can work with your staff to facilitate the alignment of your curriculum to the Common Core Standards. We begin by establishing strong foundations in literacy and math through training your staff in our Reading and Math Academies. See how our CORE Reading Academies, Writing Instruction Workshops, and Math Academies align to the CCSS. We then offer on-site support to work with your staff.

On-Site Support and Common Core Mapping
Levels: K–12
Length: 2 days' work per grade level
Audience: District administrators, classroom teachers, coaches, and principals

Description
CORE educational experts will work with district administrators, reading/English language arts teachers, math teachers, coaches, and other school leaders to align the curriculum to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). This work typically starts before the school year begins in order to establish a foundation for the upcoming year. The alignment will require close attention to the literacy and math curriculum and other interventions and resources to be used by the district/school to identify gaps in instruction related to the Common Core. Major themes will be aligned with the main topics in the CCSS for each grade level. Alignment will be directed at both the content standards and the practice standards of the Common Core. Assessment questions will be identified that align with and provide tangible meaning for the CCSS. A pacing guide will provide a timeline for each aligned unit of study.
